Meal planning during pregnancy

Pregnancy is supposed to be the most wonderful time for a woman. It marks the beginning of a new life for both the mother and the upcoming baby. It is essential to take a nutritious diet during pregnancy for keeping the mother and the baby in a healthy condition and avoiding any king of birth defects and complications.

The best thing to do so is avoid outside food. Home cooked food is best for a pregnant lady as there are very little chances of harmful chemicals and other artificial substances coming in the diet. Going for a natural diet rich in fruits and vegetables is the best way to ensure that all the required vitamins and minerals are supplied to the body.

It is a good idea to consult a diet expert. A dietician will be able to provide a customized meal plan that works best for an individual. Most experts suggest that heavy meals should be avoided under all circumstances. Pregnant ladies should go for small portions at regular intervals. A good way is to consume a little amount after every three hours. This allows easy digestion and helps to avoid those heartburns which are so common during pregnancy.
